Our flight landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport early in the morning at 5AM. By the time, we checked out after clearing immigration, it was 6AM. We booked a cab and left for our home. Since Sonia didn’t inform her husband or her sister that she was coming to India, she decided to surprise them. And since I lived near to her house, we took the same cab. I decided to drop Sonia at her home and then go to my apartment. From there, I would freshen up and then load all my luggage in my own car and then leave for Muazzafarnagar to surprise my family and attend my sister Huma’s marriage.

After our cab reached Sonia’s apartment, she kissed me and got down with her luggage. I asked her to call me once she gets settled. Sonia promised me that she would call me soon. Then she went up to her apartment with her luggage. Sonia pressed the door bell waiting for her husband to open the door and surprise him. And when then door bell rang, her husband Manjeet who was still sleeping got angry as he was drunk last night and still had a hangover. He had clearly instructed the milk man to get the milk late every morning. But now he thought that milkman had come early again, thus making him furious. He went to open the door to take the milk, but when he opened the door, all his hang over went away and he came to his senses. He couldn’t believe that his wife was standing infront of him. Sonia recognized that woman, she was her husband Manjeet’s best friend Harleen Kaur. I had just reached my apartment, and my phone started ringing. I saw Sonia’s name on my cell phone and wondered why did she call me so soon. I answered the call and Sonia was crying. I got back in the same cab again and asked the driver to take me back to Sonia’s home. Due to morning traffic, it took me longer time, but I was there as soon as I could. By the time we reached my apartment, Sonia stopped crying as I was there for her. We got down from the cab, took my luggage and went upstairs to my apartment. I asked her what happened and then Sonia told me that she caught her husband red handed with another woman who was sleeping naked in her bedroom. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Over breakfast, I told Sonia that she should be happy that she found out about her husband’s extra marital affair. And we can use this situation for our advantage. Sonia wondered how we can use this situation and I told her that we can now file for divorce on the reason that Manjeet was cheating on her in her absence. And this can also be the basis of taking her daughter Jia’s full custody. Sonia realized that she was crying without any reason as she no longer loved Manjeet. She was just hurt and angry after knowing that the man whom she married was cheating on her. She should not be crying on his infidelity as she herself was having an affair with me.

I asked Sonia about Jia and where she was. Sonia told me that her daughter is still with her mother at her sister Tanya’s home. And then suddenly my phone started ringing. I picked up my phone and saw Sonia’s sister Tanya’s name on the screen. I answered the call and spoke to her. Tanya was asking me where was I. I told her that I was in Delhi only, in my apartment. Then I asked her what happened and why she had called me. She told me that she was trying Sonia’s phone and she was not answering her call. Sonia searched for her phone and realized that it was still in her purse which was kept in my bedroom. I asked Tanya what was wrong, then she told me that Manjeet had called her to know if Sonia was with her. She had no idea that Sonia was back in India and the only other person who had any idea about his sister was me. So she called me to check if her sister was with me. I told her to calm down and his sister was with me only. Tanya asked me to let her talk to her sister. I gave phone to Sonia and both sisters begun talking. Sonia asked Tanya to come to my apartment and not to inform anything to their mother yet. Tanya asked if she wanted her to bring her daughter Jia, Sonia asked Tanya to bring Jia as we both wanted to meet her. I texted my apartment’s address to Tanya so that she didn’t had difficulty in coming here.

After a while, Tanya reached my apartment. As soon as she came, Sonia ran to open the door and when she saw Tanya with little Jia in her arms, she took Jia from Tanya, kissed her daughter and hugged her sister. She invited her sister inside and Tanya saw me sitting in the living room and said hello to me. Then she saw her sister dressed in my clothes and felt embarrassed. Sonia told her that she didn’t get her luggage from her home. Tanya asked Sonia what was wrong and why she came here. Then Sonia asked Tanya to sit down first and then told her everything that happened at her home and how she found out about her husband’s extra marital affair. Tanya asked if Manjeet knew about our affair, I told her that he still doesn’t has any idea that Sonia was having affair with me. Tanya then tried to explain her sister that since Sonia was also cheating on Manjeet, it didn’t matter if he also cheated on her. she felt it was reasonable, and then I told Tanya that I agree that Sonia was cheating on Manjeet with me, but it was not reasonable as he was not yet aware of our affair yet. And had he knew about our affair then it would be reasonable. I tried to explain to Tanya to support us in this matter as it will help Sonia to get divorce from her husband Manjeet. Tanya said that she will do anything to see her sister happy and asked me what I wanted her to do to help Sonia.

I told Sonia and Tanya that I had a plan. I asked Sonia to call and ask Manjeet to meet tomorrow and inform him that Tanya will also come along with her. Then they both will have to ask Manjeet clearly for how long he was having affair with his friend and every possible detail they can extract from him about his affair with that woman. Tanya asked me how will that help us, I told her that Manjeet must be feeling embarrassed right now and in this situation he will tell the complete truth. So we need to know everything about his affair if we want to take divorce on that basis. Tanya understood my plan and said that she will be there with Sonia and try to get all the details out of Manjeet.

Tanya then called her brother in law Manjeet and told her that she is with Sonia. Manjeet asked Tanya to let him speak with Sonia. Tanya said that she knew everything that happened at his home earlier and said that it was not a good idea that he should talk to her sister right now. Tanya told him that if he wanted to meet Sonia, then he should meet her tomorrow and she will also come to support her sister as he was cheating on her sister. Manjeet agreed and asked where she wanted him to come for meeting. Tanya told that she will inform him later.

Tanya asked me where they should meet, I told her to take Sonia to her home and meet Manjeet there itself. And this way, Sonia can also bring all her stuff she needed from there so that she can stay with me comfortably with all her luggage, also Manjeet will be more comfortable in his own home if we wanted to get the whole truth out of him. Sonia also agreed that this meeting was the best way to get her luggage out from there. After a while, Tanya started getting calls from her mother. Tanya asked Sonia what she wanted her to tell their mother. Sonia had no idea so she asked me. I told Tanya not to tell anything to their mother till we meet Manjeet tomorrow and then we will decide what to tell to their mother. Tanya agreed and answered her mother’s call and told her that she is at her friend’s place and will get back soon.

After Tanya left, I asked Sonia to sleep for some time. Sonia went towards my bedroom to take some rest and asked me to come with her. I asked her to go and have some rest as I have to make some calls. Sonia went in and I shut the door from outside. I then called my Abbu and informed him that I was back in Delhi but I was having some urgent work here and I will come after 3-4 days after everything is sorted out. He asked me to take care of myself and not to worry as all the wedding preparations were going on smoothly. I then called my lawyer friend and asked him to come and meet me to discuss the divorce case for one of my friend. He said that he was busy in court right now and will come in evening. I asked him to have dinner with me and we can discuss the case over food. After a few hours when Sonia woke up, I told him about the lawyer and our meeting in evening. I asked her if she could make dinner for us or should we order food from restaurant. Sonia told me that she will cook dinner herself and asked me not to worry.

He told me that he was also invited and he will also come for marriage. He then asked me all the details about Sonia. And I told him everything about our affair, how and when it started and that we would be working together in France now.

Basheer wanted to know all the details about Sonia’s married life, so he asked me to call her. I called Sonia and asked her if dinner was ready. Basheer told Sonia that it was very important to know everything about us. So he asked Sonia again if her husband knew that she was in an extra marital affair with me. Sonia said that she thinks he has no idea that she was cheating on him, but she told him that her husband Manjeet was having an extra marital affair. Basheer asked Sonia how she knows that her husband was having an affair. I told Basheer what ever Sonia saw in her home when she gave a surprise visit at her home after coming from London. Basheer then asked Sonia what she knew about his affair and the lady with whom Manjeet was having an affair. Sonia told him that she knew that woman as it was her husband’s best friend from college. Basheer asked from when they were having an affair, Sonia said that she don’t know anything else. Basheer then said that if we want full custody of her daughter, then we should know as much as possible about Manjeet and his lady friend Harleen. I informed our lawyer that Sonia was going to meet her husband to know the details tomorrow and asked him to give a list of questions he wanted to know. Basheer asked Sonia to get a pen and paper and note down those questions.

Basheer wanted to know for how long Manjeet was having affair with his best friend Harleen. He wanted to know if they were involved before marriage and if yes, did they continue it even after his marriage to Sonia. He also informed Sonia to ask him if he had an affair with any other woman apart from Harleen. Basheer then wanted to know what assets they owned together and how much property her husband Manjeet owned and about his salary details so that she can claim child support and alimony in divorce.

After we had a long discussion, I asked Basheer if he was hungry yet or still wanted to know some more details. Basheer said that he was very hungry and the smell of food is making his hunger grow with every second. I asked Sonia to arrange the food on table for us. Sonia went back to kitchen and then Basheer complimented me on Sonia that from the smell of food he knows that Sonia will atleast cook good and tasty food for me after I get married to her. After Sonia put all the dishes on the table, she asked both of us to wash our hands to come to dining table. We sat for dinner and Sonia also joined us. While eating Basheer asked about our relation. Sonia told him that he was the first one from my family and friends to know about our affair. Basheer asked me when I was going to tell my family about Sonia, I told him that as soon as she files for her divorce, I will inform my family about her. He said that once he gets all the details, he can file for divorce in court and send the papers. He asked me not to worry about Sonia and go to Muzzafarnagar to celebrate the marriage of my younger sister. He said that after he gets all the details from Sonia, he would file for divorce and keep me posted about the developments.

After dinner, Basheer sat down with us for some more time. We told him more about our relation of how I got Sonia job in my company and after going back we will be working and living in together. Sonia got desserts for us after eating it, Basheer complimented Sonia again. This time directly to her that she makes very tasty food. Basheer asked Sonia not to worry as her case was not just a professional case for him anymore and he will take a personal interest in her case as he was doing it for the family. Sonia thanked Basheer for his assistance and said that she will be in touch with him. Basheer gave his business card to Sonia and then said that he should leave. Sonia and I, we both thanked him for coming and then he got up to leave.

Next day we woke up and had breakfast. Tanya came early to my apartment as she had to go with Sonia to meet Manjeet. She left little Jia with their mother at her home. While Sonia was getting dressed in bedroom, I sat with Tanya and told her everything what all my lawyer Basheer had instructed me and Sonia to do. Tanya asked me not to worry as she will handle everything. I advised Tanya to record everything on her phone when Manjeet was talking so that we can have evidence when we file for divorce. Sonia then asked when he resumed this affair again. So, Manjeet said that just before their first wedding anniversary he met his ex-girlfriend Harleen in one of their common friend’s birthday party. At that time Harleen was engaged and was about to marry. And that night they connected again and decided to spend the night together and had sex. Sonia asked where she was that time. Manjeet said that he called her and said that he was drunk and was sleeping over at his friend’s home whereas in actual he took Harleen to a hotel where they had sex. Tanya asked if Harleen’s husband found about their affair, Manjeet said yes, but there was more than that. Manjeet said that during their affair and when Harleen was already married, she got pregnant by him. And her husband discovered that it was not his child and that’s how he came to know that Harleen was cheating on him and he started spying on her. Today, it was proved that Jia was not born out of love but forcefully only to fulfil his parent’s wish of having a grandchild and he never wanted to have children with Sonia.

Sonia didn’t want to stay there any longer so she went in her bedroom and started to pack her bags. Her two suit cases were already packed which she got from London. But she wanted to take some more stuff with her, so she started packing. Tanya also came in and started helping her sister. Manjeet came once and said to Sonia that she can stay if she wanted to stay there with him. Sonia then made it clear to her husband that she don’t want to be in this marriage anymore and she wanted divorce from him. Manjeet didn’t even object to it or say anything and just kept quiet as he was also interested in making his relationship official with his girlfriend Harleen.

Sonia had four suit cases ready and informed her husband Manjeet that she will come later to collect rest of her belonging. She said that she will send the divorce papers through her lawyer and expects him to sign the papers without any delay. After their meeting was over, when they were leaving her home, Sonia called me to inform that she was coming back. When they came back, I went down to receive them and also to take the bags as I didn’t want those two ladies to carry such heavy bags upto my apartment. After keeping the luggage, Sonia came to me and hugged me tightly and said that it was good that she came to know about her husband’s extra marital affair. I asked Sonia and Tanya to sit down and explain to me everything in detail about what they got to know from Manjeet.

Sonia went to kitchen and made coffee for all three of us and Tanya started telling me what all she came to know about Manjeet’s affair with the woman he was having sex with. I came to know about Manjeet’s past and also that he was having an illegitimate child with his lover. Sonia told me that she made it clear to her husband that she wanted a divorce from him and he was ready to divorce her. This was a good news for us and then Tanya asked me what we have to do now. I asked her not to worry as my lawyer has already started to make papers for divorce and once we give him all the details he will finish all the paperwork and then we can file for divorce. I then asked Sonia to tell everything about Manjeet’s affair to her mother. Tanya asked Sonia if she wanted to introduce me as her lover and give my real introduction as I had already met their mother as a driver after their father’s demise. Sonia told me that she will now introduce me as her lover and will tell her all the truth. I said to Sonia that she can introduce me later, but first her mother should know the truth about her husband so that she can agree for divorce without any problems. Then I will be ready to meet her mother after some days as I didn’t want her to think that Sonia’s divorce happened because of me.

Tanya stayed with us for sometime and Sonia showed her some of our pictures which we clicked in London and in Dubai. Tanya saw that her sister was really happy with me. And when Tanya decided to leave, I stopped her. Sonia had no idea why I stopped her. Then I asked Sonia to go with Tanya to her house and meet her mother and daughter there. Sonia went with her sister Tanya to meet her mother. Meanwhile, I called our lawyer Basheer and gave him updates about what all information we got from Manjeet. Sonia stayed with her mother till evening and even had dinner at her sister’s home. Basheer then also asked me to go to Muzzafarnagar as he will handle everything for me and if they needed me I can come anytime as Muzzafarnagar was not too far away from Delhi. Back in Delhi, Sonia got her divorce papers from our lawyer Basheer. As per the rules, Basheer had already sent notice for divorce to Sonia’s husband Manjeet. Basheer told him that Sonia wanted full custody of her daughter Jia as she will be taking her along to France and he cannot meet her anytime. And if he wanted to go to court for the custody, then Sonia will be happy to do so and if this matter goes to court, then he may have to lose some of his properties, and pay for child support and alimony as he was cheating on Sonia and also had illegitmate child with his girlfriend outside marriage. Manjeet couldn’t believe that Sonia told everything to her lawyer. Manjeet told that he also wants the divorce as Sonia was shifting to France soon and it was no use of being together now that she knew about his affair and will sign the papers. He said he didn’t want to go to court and he was ready to give full custody of their daughter to Sonia. Manjeet then informed Sonia that he also wants to move on with life and marry his girlfriend and accept her child as his own.
